Lorenzo and Fatima Fortenberry are retired/ veterans of the United States Army. Lorenzo hails from Columbia Mississippi and Fatima hails from Brooklyn New York City. They met and married at their first duty stationed in Fort Richardson Alaska July 2000.  After the birth of their daughter Zyrelle, they PCS’d to Fort Polk LA. It was during this time that Fatima accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior. Lorenzo and Fatima served for 8 years at Resurrection Life Worship Center in Leesville LA. Lorenzo served faithfully in the Audio-Visual ministry and Men’s Ministry, when not deployed to Iraq. Fatima served on the intercessory team, prison ministry, and as the Creative Arts Director for the church. 

In the year 2010 Lorenzo and Fatima successfully finished ministry training and were licensed and ordained under Drs Ronald and Sonya Hamm. Soon after ordination, Lorenzo and Fatima transitioned to Ft. Hood Texas and served under the departed Pastors Terry and Jan Whitley of Grace Christian Center, later succeeded Pastors Mark and Teresa Price. While serving at Grace, Lorenzo recognized his call into the pastoral.  Lorenzo began to serve in the youth ministry Kids Action Studio on the AV team, and then later as a lead teacher for Wednesday and Sunday ministry. Lorenzo was also a coach for AAU in track and football. Fatima joined the Christian Dance Company Karar International Dance Academy and served as the lead intercessor for the company and as a teacher in choreography and prayer. Lorenzo came along side Fatima to assist as a sound engineer for Karar International Dance Academy under the mentorship of Minister Mike Clark. Fatima also served in the creative arts department at Grace Christian Center and as a Master lead teacher for the 2- 3-year-olds in children's ministry. Fatima is also an advocate for Human Trafficking and has an outreach ministry called Galatians 5:1 Ministries, where she has taught, trained, and launched outreach teams as well as mentored pastors in how to deal with trafficked victims.  Fatima has also served as a commissioner in the Arts in the city of Killen Texas.

After being stationed at Fort Hood Texas, Lorenzo and Fatima transitioned for Grafenwöhr Germany, where they served for five years at New Life Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Dan and First Lady Davis. Lorenzo served as Senior Deacon, the lead for Audio visual ministry and the lead for the Men’s Ministry. Fatima led the intercessory team, Creative Arts Ministry, and the video production /social media team. It was at New Life Christian Center, that they felt the call to be a part of Ministry to the Military and to become ordained ministers in Church of God. Lorenzo and Fatima have a heart for soldiers and understand the needs of the community by way of personal experience and from a ministerial perspective. Their core belief is better soldiers lead to better leaders, better leaders lead healthy families, healthy families can change communities! Lorenzo is listed in the directory of Religious Education for Hohenfels, Grafenwöhr, and Vilseck and holds certifications in coaching, management, and administration. Fatima has a Bach in Management with a minor in Law office Management, a certificate in Inner Healing and Deliverance and Master of Law. The Fortenberry’s have four beautiful children, Ceirra who is currently active-duty Army, Zyrelle, Trashon, Exavier and two fur babies, Cookie and Judah.

In September 2021, Pastors Gregory and Dana Smith transitioned the leadership of Freedom Worship Center Velburg over to Pastors Lorenzo and Fatima Fortenberry as the Interim Directors and Senior Pastors for the Freedom Outreach Ministry to the Military Center in Velburg.
